The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the region through 8 p.m. “Rainfall amounts of one to three inches can be expected locally, with higher amounts possible,” the NWS said.
Motorists are reminded not to drive into flooded areas. “Turn around, don’t drown.”

Heavy rain and gusty winds are expected in the Fredericksburg region October 15, as the storm system that battered the Midwest reaches the east coast.
Wind could gust as high as 24 miles-per-hour, the National Weather Service said. New rainfall amounts between one and two inches are possible.
