Community Cleanup Week in the City

The City of Fredericksburg and the Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board are sponsoring Community Cleanup Week October 19 – 25, 2014.

Dumpsters will be placed at seven city locations. Residents and business owners are urged to use this opportunity to dispose of brush, furniture, appliances, tires and scrap materials. Household trash, paint and hazardous materials are not allowed.

The seven container locations are:

Summit Street and Airport Avenue in the Mayfield neighborhood
The 1400 block of Kenmore Avenue, beside Cossey Botanical Park
On Freedom Lane in the gravel lot between the VFW and Falmouth Bridge
The Belman Road Recycling Center at 1200 Belman Rd.
The Sam Perry Fire House on Altoona Drive
Rappahannock Avenue at Payne Street
In Braehead Woods near Meade Court

Appliance Pick-Up Day is Tuesday, Oct. 21. To schedule a pick-up, call 540-372-1023 no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20.

Hazardous materials may be delivered to the Belman Road Recycling Center, 1200 Belman Rd., from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25.
