Four Hour Downtown Parking Begins November 8

The annual extended holiday parking in downtown Fredericksburg begins Saturday, November 8, and continues through Wednesday, December 31, 2014.

“Motorists will be permitted to park for four hours at on-street parking spaces signed for two hour parking, within the area shown on this map, according to the city’s Public Works Department. The four-hour restriction will apply 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

On street parking during other periods, including on city holidays, is not time restricted. Restrictions on parking near intersections or fire hydrants, in handicapped accessible spaces or in spaces signed for periods shorter than two hours will remain in effect during this period.

On January 1, 2015, the two-hour limit will resume.

Off street downtown parking is available:

– In the paid parking garage at the intersection of Sophia Street and Wolfe Street (entrance on Wolfe Street).
– In the free parking lot in the 700 block of Sophia Street, between Charlotte and Hanover Streets.
– In the free parking lot in the 800 to 900 block of Sophia Street, at the end of George Street.
– In the free parking lot in the 1000 block of Sophia Street, next to Happy Clam.
