Shop Small Events in Fredericksburg

by | Nov 26, 2014 | Business

American Express founded Small Business Saturday in 2010 to help businesses with their most pressing need — getting more customers. The single day has grown into a powerful movement, and more people are taking part each year.

“For every $100 spent locally, only 14 percent stays local when the money is spent at a chain store,” the Virginia Business Development Center reported on Twitter.

The Fredericksburg Main Street Initiative has coordinated Shop Small events with the businesses of downtown Fredericksburg, some beginning as early as 8 a.m.

Early Bird Specials for Small Business Saturday are available from 8 to 10 a.m. at more than 50 downtown Fredericksburg businesses. Free coffee and pastries — until they run out — will be provided at the Visitor Center, 706 Caroline St., and Raven Hi-Fi, 214 William St. View the participating businesses and their special offers at this page.

The Pamper Me Expo, a gathering of locally owned businesses for Small Business Saturday, will be selling from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at A.D.S. Meeting and Training Center, 107 Westwood Office Park, Fredericksburg. Admission is free.
