Karen Jonas and Cabin Creek at Colonial Tavern

by | Dec 12, 2014 | Arts and Entertainment

Compliments of Ashleigh Chevalier: a bluesy type person, and an all around music enthusiast.

It is cold, but we are all still looking for something to do in a warm inviting space, something fresh! Fredericksburg has always been a dynamic music scene, but a few years ago it really began to pop. Now, it gets deeper and richer with the presence of more diverse Americana, blues, jazz, and world music.

This weekend features Karen Jonas Band and Cabin Creek, two local bands with phenomenal 2014 album debuts. They’ll perform 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Colonial Tavern, 406 Lafayette Blvd.

Karen Jonas brings invigorating and captivating soul to her alt-country flavor, accompanied by Tim Bray, Jimmy Griffith and Jon Bibb. Listen online to “Oklahoma Lottery,” their debut album

The Cabin Creek quartet and its upbeat Americana-Bluegrass sound will have you singin’ along like you do with Mumford and Sons, or whomever with you sing along. Saturday 6 is this group’s debut album.

Get your soul fix, your dancin’ shoes worn down, your holiday cheer down, AND some of your Christmas shopping done when you pick up a copy of each of these albums…IN PERSON!

Ashleigh Chevalier: I do it cause I love ya.
