Newton and Thomas Bring Bluegrass to Fredericksburg

The Bluemont in Fredericksburg Concert Series presents Mark Newton and Steve Thomas 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, in Maury Stadium.

Newton and Thomas have earned a Grammy nomination, a Country Music Award (CMA) nomination and multiple International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards.  Their music video “Old McDonald Sold the Farm” has topped Yallwire’s Bluegrass Video charts.

Admission is $5 per person, $4 Bluemont Friends & Seniors, $2 kids under 12.  There are no advance ticket sales — tickets are available at concert.

Maury Stadium is located at Hanover Street and Kenmore Avenue in Fredericksburg.

Bluemont Fredericksburg Concerts continue every Saturday evening through August 16, 2014.

August 2 – The Flaming Shilellaghs- traditional Irish & Celtic

August 9 – Martinsburg Jazz Combo- jazz and swing

August 16 – Susan Greenbaum- folk pop
