The event gives local businesses and non-profits an opportunity to introduce their goods and services to more than 1,200 potential new customers, according to the Fredericksburg Department of Economic Development and Tourism, event sponsor.
The Community Welcome Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, on Ball Circle on the UMW campus. It is limited to 50 businesses. The $25 registration fee includes an exhibit space with a six-foot table and two chairs. The registration fee is waived for non-profit organizations and vendors who provide food and/or beverages. Advance registration is required.
Exhibitors may bring giveaways, samples, coupons — whatever will appeal to this part of their target market, staff said. Alcohol, tobacco products, credit cards or goods for sale are not allowed.
