Union Bank Investigating Debit Card Breach

by | Dec 16, 2014 | Business

Union First Market Bank is warning of a possible breach of some customer debit cards.

“We have identified, and are currently investigating, a select group of Union debit cards that appear to be impacted by a compromise,” bank officials said on Union First Market’s website. “For those customers, we have restricted ATM and PIN-based activity at this time. Signature based transactions are currently available.”

Bank officials suggested all customers revisit these security steps:

– Review your account activity frequently via online, mobile banking or bank statements.
– If you do identify any unauthorized activity on your account, immediately contact us so that we can
block your card.
– Report missing or stolen cards, immediately to 800-990-4828.
– Memorize your PIN. Never write it down or keep it stored with your card.
– If something doesn’t look right with one of our ATMs, stop your transaction and inform a Union
teammate immediately. Union customers have 24/7 fraud reporting capabilities through the toll free number.

Customers are never responsible for unauthorized, fraudulent activity, and any fraud will be rectified and reimbursed, Union First officials said.
