First Friday Fredericksburg
Downtown galleries and studios host open houses, which highlight featured artists and include refreshments and often live music. Most of these occur from 6 – 9 p.m. Some of the city’s restaurants, businesses and museums join the fun, offering entertainment, exhibits and specials of their own.

Saturday In Mary’s Garden
Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Mary Washington’s House, 1200 Charles St., Fredericksburg
Join Jeanette Rose, gardener for Washington Heritage Museums, as she shares some of her expertise and anecdotes in Mrs. Washington’s garden.
Free. Admission to the house is regular price: Adults – $5 Children 6-18 – $2 Children under 6 – free.

Easter ‘Egg’-xtravaganza & Scavenger Hunt at Lake Anna State Park
Saturday, April 4, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Lake Anna State Park Visitor Center, 6800 Lawyers Rd, Spotsylvania
Participate in a scavenger hunt to see what the Easter Bunny may have left as he hopped through the woods at Lake Anna State Park. Learn the differences between a wild Cottontail Rabbit and a domestic pet bunny. After the scavenger hunt, go into the newly renovated Visitor Center to make a craft to take home and, of course, claim your prize for completing the scavenger hunt.

Easter Weekend with Peter Rabbit
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, 1800 Lakeside Ave, Richmond
Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, 1 – 4 p.m.
Meet Peter Rabbit as he poses for photographs on Saturday and Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Richmond Concert Band performs in front of the Bloemendaal House from 2 – 3 p.m. There will be special activities in the Children’s Garden. Food is available for purchase in the Garden Cafe.
Cost: Included in regular museum admission.

Easter Egg Hunt at Stratford Hall
Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m.
Stratford Hall, Home of the Lee’s of Virginia, 483 Great House Rd, Stratford, Va. (Westmoreland County)
Over 2,000 eggs will be “hidden” on the large Oval field in front of the Great House. Areas will be roped off for each age group: 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Prizes will be awarded in each age group and for finding a golden egg. Volunteers will be assigned to each age group to record this information. During the “egg tabulations,” the Fraternal Order of Police will provide a hot dog lunch. The hunt will begin at 11 a.m. SHARP, so plan to arrive early. Kids will need to bring a basket or other container to hunt with.
Free admission to children under 12 and their accompanying parents, grandparents and/or guardians

Eagle Tours at Caledon State Park
Sunday, April 5, 2 – 4 p.m.
Caledon State Park, 11617 Caledon Rd., King George, Va.
One of America’s greatest comeback stories, the bald eagle soars over the Potomac RIver. The tour begins with a brief talk on the biology and history of the eagle, and why so many can be found at Caledon. At the river, we will watch eagles as they soar and perch over the shoreline. The staff at Caledon is proud to announce that there is a new eagle’s nest.
