CRRL Highlights eReading on “Town Talk”

Central Rappahannock Regional Library staff Adriana Puckett, senior web developer, and Christie Hoerneman, head of research at the England Run branch, were guests March 31 on “Town Talk” WFVA News Talk 1230 AM. They conversation focused on eReading resources.

Your library card provides access to eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines to download onto eReaders, tablets, smart phones, and computers. There are six content providers available from the library’s website under ebooks. They are:

Zinio eMagazines
Access to full digital copies of current issues of nearly 200 popular magazines.

OverDrive eBooks & eAudio
A collection of more than 3,500 eBook and nearly 400 eAudio popular fiction and non-fiction titles for adults, teens and kids. Project Gutenberg classic titles are available here.

Freading eBooks
Adult, young adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction titles available for download.

OneClickdigital eAudio
Access to 4,500 downloadable fiction and non-fiction titles, 700 of those are for kids and teens.Thirty new titles are added each month. OneClick provides a limited selection of classic eBook titles.

EBSCOhost eBooks
More than 57,000 downloadable nonfiction ebooks and 700 primarily adult fiction titles are available.

Tumblebooks eBooks
Hundreds of animated picture books can be viewed through any web browser. They are not optimized for mobile viewing and are not available for download to portable devices.
