The Princeton Review, Money Magazine and Forbes have each ranked the University of Mary Washington (UMW) among the nation’s best colleges.

UMW earned recognition on The Princeton Review’s “The Best 379 Colleges” and was named a “Best Southeastern College.”

Money Magazine ranked UMW seventh among Virginia public schools and 107th overall among more than 1,500 four-year colleges and universities.  Money based its first “Money’s Best Colleges” list on educational quality, affordability and career outcomes.

UMW ranked number 255 overall and number 53 in the south on Forbes’ “America’s Top Colleges 2014.”  The list of 650 schools is based on “output” over “input.”  “We’re not all that interested in what gets a student into college, like our peers who focus heavily on selectivity metrics such as high school class rank, SAT scores and the like. Our sights are set directly on ROI: What are students getting out of college,” the magazine wrote about its methodology.
