The Longest Day

This film is the epic telling of the D-Day landings at Normandy, based on the 1959 book “The Longest Day” by Cornelius Ryan.

Beer and Bacon Fest
Saturday, Aug. 29, VIP admission 12 – 2 p.m.; general admission 2 – 4 p.m.
Stonebridge Potomac Town Center, 14900 Potomac Town Place, Woodbridge, Va.
All you care to taste, live music, exhibits, butchering 101 class, “Best Bacon Inspired Outfit” contest, 75 beers, wines and spirits.

Gari Melchers Home and Studio Woodland Hike
Sunday, August 30, 2 – 3 p.m.
Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont, 224 Washington St., Falmouth, Va.
Members of the Central Rappahannock Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalist program lead the walking tour of the woods and fields at Belmont. The walk will cover about one mile of trails, and will touch on the historic ruins that illustrate Belmont’s past.
Free.
