Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Road World Championships
September 19 – 27 in Richmond, Va.
The Road World Championships (Worlds) is cycling’s pinnacle event, held annually in an international city as chosen by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) through a competitive bidding process similar to the Olympic Games. The nine-day event features about 1,000 of the world’s top men and women cyclists from some 75 countries competing in 12 championship races. Beyond the racing, there will be festivals, concerts, expos and other entertainment for fans of all ages. Richmond is the first American city to host the event since 1986.
There will be several hospitality areas and fan zones that will have ticketed admission, but the majority of the courses will be open and free for all spectators.

Virginia Numismatic Association Convention & Coin Show
Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center, 2371 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg
For many, coin collecting has always been a big hobby. At the Virginia Numismatic Association Convention & Coin Show, visitors can come and view the collections of over 75 different dealers. The event is great fun for those interested in collecting coins and those looking to get into the hobby.

White Oak Ministries 3rd Annual Car Show
Saturday, Sept. 26, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
White Oak Ministries, 299 White Oak Rd, Fredericksburg
Spectators can come in for free to see all the classic cars that are entered in this year’s car show. Cars can be entered for $15 each, with trophies awarded to the winners of the categories of Best in Show, Best in Paint, Best in Engine, Best in Originality, and Best Foreign.

The Fredericksburg Dog Mart
Saturday, Sept. 26, 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Rain date September 27)
Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter Park, 12400 Herndon Rd., Spotsylvania, Va.
Bring your dog for the 317th “Dogs Day Out.” Dog competitions, vendors, K-9 demos, rescue groups and fun for the entire family.
$5 per car.

Rappahannock Model Railroaders Fall Open House
Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Club House, 406 H Hudgins Rd, Fredericksburg
The Rappahannock Model Railroaders are showing off their work with their seasonal open house. Members will be present to answer questions for visitors and to give insight into their process.
Free admission.

Occoquan Fall Arts & Crafts Show
Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Town of Occoquan, Va.
More than 300 contemporary and country crafters and artisans from all around the United States. Come to Occoquan for fun, food and shopping.
Free admission. Shuttle bus $5.

9th Annual Harvest Festival at Potomac Point Winery
Saturday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m – 5 p.m.
Potomac Point Winery, 275 Decatur Rd., Stafford
A day full of family fun, including fall games for adults and kids, shopping vendors, festive foods, grape stomping, guest wineries and live music.
Adults $24; Under age 21, $12.

ComedySportz
Saturday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m.
The State Theater, 305 S. Main St., Culpeper.
An improv-comedy competition where teams invent comic situations on the spot, with suggestions from the audience. The all-ages show starts at 7 p.m. and the 18 and older show starts at 10 p.m.
Tickets cost $15.

Dancing with the Fredericksburg Stars
Saturday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m.
University of Mary Washington Dodd Auditorium, 1301 College Avenue, Fredericksburg, Va.
Community leaders prepared all summer to compete. Proceeds will endow performing arts scholarships for regional UMW students.
Tickets are $90 — which includes a $5 processing fee. Tax-deductible portion of your purchase is $75.

Gari Melchers Home and Studio Woodland Hikes
Sunday, Sept. 27, 2 p.m.
Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont, 224 Washington St, Falmouth
Virginia Master Naturalists lead informative walks along a mile of trails in both woodlands and fields, touching on the historic ruins of Belmont’s past.
Free.

“High-Five!”
Sunday, Sept. 27, 3 p.m.
The Donald and Susan Reed Theater, Fredericksburg Academy, 10800 Academy Dr, Fredericksburg
The Mid-Atlantic Wind Symphony will be kicking off its fifth concert season. The group will perform a new composition by Brandon Nelson which is titled “Noble Rappahannock.”
Tickets are $15 at the door.
