The Title Professionals and Stafford County Government received 2015 Chamber Goodwill Awards during the 14th annual Goodwill Awards and Expo on October 13.

Sponsored by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, the awards are given in recognition of a company’s commitment to helping others and improving the local quality of life, said Chamber President and CEO Susan Spears.

The Title Professionals won the award for a small business. “The company has given generously of its times, space and services to a large number of area non-profits,” Spears said. In the last year the company focused on Micah Ecumenical Ministries. They led a drive for backpacks, gift cards, and toiletry items. Once a month they prepared and served dinner for residents at Micah Respite House. They also hosted a live music, silent auction fundraiser, with all proceeds going to Micah.

Stafford County Government won the award for a large business. Stafford County Government actively encourages staff to participate in volunteer projects with local nonprofits. “Their participation in the Rappahannock United Way’s Day of Action each year has so many volunteers they have to participate in multiple projects,” Spears said.

The 14th annual Goodwill Awards and Expo was held at Rappahannock Goodwill Industries’ Community Center. Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International, delivered the keynote address.
