Two Virginia residents were honored at the 2015 United States Pony Club (USPC) Annual Meeting & Equine Symposium, held in Arlington, Va., January 21 – 24.
Vicki Fox received the Founders’ Award for her 22 years of local, regional and national volunteer service with USPC. Her involvement with Pony Club began when her daughter joined the Loudoun Hunt Pony Club. She currently serves as the volunteer chair of the Eventing Committee.
Gegi Winslett was elected to the U.S. Pony Club Board of Governors for a one-year-term. The Locust Grove resident has been involved with USPC at the national level since 1980, most recently serving as chairperson of the National Advisory Committee. Winslett teaches, coaches and trains riders and horses in eventing, jumpers, hunters and equitation, produces horse shows and designs courses through her business, The Winslett Advantage – TWA Horse Shows. She is also a licensed United States Equestrian Federation judge.
The mission of Pony Club is to “develop character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.” Visit the website for more information, and to find a club near you.
