Brothers Ian and Jalen Brown, students at Spotsylvania High School, were killed in a car crash on November 7, 2015.

Their mother is a teacher in Spotsylvania County. Jennifer Detrick Ware, the mother of one of Ms. Brown’s students, has started the Ian and Jalen Brown Memorial Fund on GoFundMe, which raised more than $13,000 in 24 hours.

“Mrs. Brown is a teacher for Spotsylvania County and has taught so many of our children,” Ware wrote. “She has shown so much love for all of them and we can now in a minimal way show her we can pay that forward.”

On November 5, 2015 we lost two very dearly loved young men. Ian and Jalen Brown were taken home much much to soon. This has truly effected our community is ways that are so very hard to put here in words.

We have decided to try to help in a very small way to somehow show our appreciation to the Brown family for their courage on this long road. Mrs. Brown is a teacher for Spotsylvania County and has taught so many of our children. She has shown so much love for all of them and we can now in a minimal way show her we can pay that forward.

Mrs. Brown is currently my child’s teacher she takes care of her every day for me. We are residents of Spostylvania County and live right here in Partlow, where this took place. This has been laid on our hearts as a parents to do for this for them. The family has in no way asked for help for anything. We want to do this to somehow give a little bit of an easier road for a terribly hard road ahead.

As parents we just cant imagine funeral expenses for one child but they are faced with two. There will be days if not weeks or months missed of work and guess what even if your child has been taken the bills still come. It is my prayer that we come together as a community to help. If its’ in your hearts to do something please do. This could help so tremendously in such a devastation.

This is OUR gift from us the community to recognize two great boys and a very loving family. We will gift them with this and let them see what kindness and generosity can do! Even a little gift goes a LONG way in a world of many givers.

In the end all donations will be given to Mrs. Brown and family via bank transfer. This will be their gift from all of us who are so deeply effected from this terrible tragedy.

In Loving Memory of their beautiful boys, brothers that now walk together in a more beautiful place.
