Samantha Fish will be howlin’ through Virginia on Sunday, Dec. 6, at The State Theater, 220 N Washington St. in Falls Church.

This rockin’ songstress has been rollin’ and touring internationally since 2011, when she began with Ruf Records Blues Caravan Girls with Guitars Tour alongside Cassie Taylor and Dani Wilde. Fish has released three solo albums since, currently touring to support the third, critically acclaimed album, Wild Heart.

Wild Heart tells a story, built around Fish’s gritty guitar work and determined vocals. Luther Dickenson (The Black Crowes/Mississippi Allstars) produced and recorded tasteful and eloquent instrumentation through and around each song, bringing to light everything raw, real, and moving. Every song, be it about the road, good love, or love gone badly, is empowering both in play and lyric. The evident country and southern rock influence topping Fish’s solid blues foundation will inspire listeners abroad.

“I’m still figuring out who I am as an artist,” said Fish about Wild Heart. “I feel we had a good feel on the album. It’s closer to me and to my sound. I feel very connected with what I’m doing.”
Enthusiasm across the North American continent and through Europe is increasing for this hard working musician, as she just returned from a European tour through the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

“Trying to balance touring and coming home,” Fish comments, “is the biggest challenge. I’m in constant motion. Unlike what people think, there is a routine: wake up, drive, sound check, hotel check in, perform. It’s hard to decompress and change gears when I get home.”

Between tours, Fish works on songwriting, and spends time with her man and eight cats. Yes, seems she has an adopting heart. “Knuckles”, “Buddy”, “JoJo” and five other lovelies have found a warm home with killer tunes. “I’m not a homebody. I try to stay connected with everyone, but not overextend.”

What’s next for Samantha Fish?
“Without giving it away…expanding my band, involving more people.”
