Cathy Herndon presents “Big, Hot, Dogs” as the featured exhibit at Art First Gallery June 29 through August 1, 2016.
Herndon uses abstract patterns and neon lighting to capture the unique personalities of man’s and woman’s best friends. Her lifelong delight in dogs translates into a colorful and soulful show.
An opening reception will be held 6 – 9 p.m. on Fredericksburg First Friday, July 1. The exhibit is on view Wednesday, June 29, through Monday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays.
Herndon is a founding member of Art First Gallery, where she’s shown her work for the past 25 years. She is also a past president of the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts. She was a Fulbright art educator to Japan, and honored as a Virginia Middle School Art Teacher of the Year.
Hendon uses a broad range of media. Her work is collected throughout the DC Metro area, as well as abroad.
