The Stafford County School Board approved the appointment of two assistant principals during the July 12, 2016 meeting.
Catherine Lamczyk was appointed as the assistant principal for Margaret Brent Elementary School. She served as the Math Specialist at Margaret Brent Elementary. Ms. Lamczyk also served as an elementary teacher at Garrisonville Elementary School prior to working at Margaret Brent Elementary. She showcased a variety of leadership abilities at Margaret Brent Elementary. Ms. Lamczyk developed an intervention program with the third grade instructional team to meet the needs of at risk students, created book studies for teachers, lesson study and Inquiry Based Learning Professional Development. Ms. Lamczyk is a Skillful Teacher Instructor for Stafford County Public Schools.
Katie Werner was selected as the assistant principal at Mountain View High School. Ms. Werner served as a 10 month assistant principal at H.H. Poole Middle School where she supervised the Special Education, Fine and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education Departments. She also led the Buddy Club Program and implemented a flexible, tiered, data driven intervention program, which addressed strand deficits for each individual student in Mathematics and Reading. The H.H. Poole Special Education Language Arts and Mathematics pass rates improved under her supervision. She was also proactive in assisting as Discipline Intervention Team leader in reducing the overall number of school safety concerns to reinforce school-wide positive behavior strategies.
