Mary Washington Hospital is ranked fourth in the Washington Metro area and sixth in Virginia in the 2016-17 U.S. News Best Hospitals report.

Mary Washington Hospital is a general medical and surgical hospital with 437 beds. According to U.S. News, the hospital:
– Had 23,294 admissions in the latest year for which data are available.
– Performed 8,236 annual inpatient and 14,511 outpatient surgeries.
– Had 89,151 emergency room visits.

6 – Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, Md. (tied for sixth)

8 – Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Fairfax, Va.

The 12 top U.S. News Best Hospitals in Virginia are:
1 – University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va.

2 – Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Va. (tied for second)

2 – Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Richmond, Va. (tied for second)

4- Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, Va.

5 – Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va.

6 – Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Va.

7 – Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

8 – Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Va.

9 – Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond, Va. (tied for ninth)

9 – Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, Va. (tied for ninth)

9 – Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, Va. (tied for ninth)

12 – Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Va. (tied for 12th)

Stafford Hospital and Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center were not rated.
