City of Fredericksburg
Route 1
(New) Sunday and Monday,10 p.m. – 6 a.m. One lane will be closed on Route 1 southbound between the Rappahannock Canal and Alvey Drive for storm sewer and waterline installation. Motorists should expect brief delays in the work zone.
Mary Washington Boulevard
Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Mary Washington Boulevard between Hospital Drive and Sam Perry Boulevard for construction activity. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
Fall Hill Avenue
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal for construction activity. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
Stafford County
Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth)
(New) Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Drivers can expect brief, intermittent delays between mile marker 132 which is near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth) and mile marker 134. Crews will have a mobile work zone and will close the right lane, along with the shoulder, to inspect signs between the two mile markers.
Interstate 95 Northbound at Exit 140 (Route 630/Stafford)
(New) Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Drivers can expect brief, intermittent delays between mile marker 139, which is near Exit 140 (Route 630/Courthouse Road) and Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville), with the right lane and shoulder closed for a mobile work zone. Crews will be inspecting signs in this stretch of interstate.
Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) at Butler Road
(New) Monday, 9 a.m.˗˗ 3:30 p.m. Crews will be out inspecting signs between Butler Road and the Falmouth Bridge in both the northbound and southbound lanes with intermittent lane closures. Drivers can expect brief delays with this mobile work zone.
Route 17 (Warrenton Road) at Sanford Drive
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m.˗˗ 3:30 p.m. Crews will inspect signs on Route 17 (Warrenton Road) between Sanford Drive and Olde Forge Drive, near the I-95 interchange. Drivers can expect brief delays with a mobile closure of the right lane and shoulder of Route 17. Crews will work on the eastbound side first before moving to the westbound side, heading toward Warrenton.
Route 631 (Bells Hill Road) near Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway)
(New) Thursday — Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Traffic will be alternating and down to one lane on Route 631 (Bells Hill Road) from the intersection of Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) to Cork Street. Drivers can expect brief delays as flaggers direct traffic through the work zone. Crews will be digging trenches in this area.
Route 1 at Route 610 (Garrisonville Road)
(Update) Monday, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m. Crews will be cutting loops in the pavement for the new traffic signals at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 610 (Garrisonville Road). Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures at the intersection.
Route 17 at Deep Run Creek
(Update) Sunday – Saturday. Motorists will be restricted to one lane in each direction on Route 17 at the bridge over Deep Run Creek while crews paint the structural steel on the bridge. Flaggers will direct traffic in the work zone. Crews will work 24-hours a day.
Route 1001 at Falls Run
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Saturday. Motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 1001 (Melcher Drive) at the bridge over Falls Run while crews paint the structural steel on the bridge. Flaggers will direct traffic in the work zone. Crews will work 24-hours a day.
Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) Intersection Improvement Project
Sunday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. One lane will be closed intermittently on Route 610 eastbound and westbound at Onville Road in this work zone from daylight to dusk, and again during overnight hours. Crews are placing sewer lines for the Route 610/Onville Road intersection improvement project.
Routine Maintenance
Monday − Thursday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 3 (Kings Highway) – shoulder work, patching
· Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) at Centreport Parkway – preparation work to add a new, right turn lane at the intersection of Centreport Parkway and northbound Route 1.
· Route 603 (Caisson Road) – mowing
· Route 602 (Newton Road) – mowing

· Route 616 (Poplar Road) – mowing

Spotsylvania County
Interstate 95
Monday – Thursday, 9:30 – 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m. Saturday morning. Bridge rehabilitation work will begin on the I-95 bridge over the Ni River located at mile marker 121, south of Exit 126 (Spotsylvania). The right shoulder on I-95 northbound and southbound will be closed in the work zone. All travel lanes will remain open.
Route 620 (Harrison Road)
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. – noon. Traffic switch on Harrison Road west of Route 1, between Pine Needle Court and west of Graningers Circle. Motorists should follow direction from flagging crew to navigate work zone. Brief stop of 5-10 minutes may be required to complete pavement markings. Traffic is shifting to allow construction to continue widening Harrison Road to four lanes between Route 1 and just west of Graningers Circle.
Route 620 (Harrison Road)
Monday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 a.m.˗˗3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.˗˗ noon. Motorists should expect intermittent flagging and single lane closures on Route 620 (Harrison Road). Motorists may periodically encounter brief delays in the overnight hours in this work zone. This work is in connection with the Route 1 and Harrison Road intersection improvement project.
Spotsylvania Avenue at Mine Road
On Sunday and Monday night from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. motorists should expect intermittent single lane closures in the vicinity of the Mine Road/Spotsylvania Avenue intersection for signal work. In addition, motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment in this area Monday − Friday, 9 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. The work is in connection with the Route 1 and Harrison Road intersection improvement project.

Caroline County
Route 721 (Sparta Road) Bridge Work
(New) On Wednesday, Nov. 9 beginning at 9 a.m., Route 721 (Sparta Road) will be closed to through traffic at the Maracossic Creek bridge for approximately four weeks, weather permitting. VDOT crews are upgrading the bridge with new steel beams, new timber, and guardrail. The bridge is located near Route 640 (Maracossic Drive) and Route 645 (Pendleton Road.) Signs and message boards are posted along the recommended detour route.
