City of Fredericksburg
Route 1 Southbound
(New) On Wednesday afternoon, motorists should be prepared for a slight traffic shift on Route 1 near Mary Washington Boulevard. Southbound traffic will be shifted over onto the new pavement while crews finish up work in the median as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Flaggers will be present and direct traffic, expect brief delays.

Fall Hill Avenue
Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal Monday, Noon – 3 p.m., Tuesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ noon.
Mary Washington Boulevard

Monday ˗˗ Saturday, 24 hours, Motorists should stay alert for ongoing work in the median of Mary Washington Boulevard between Route 1 and Sam Perry Boulevard as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Crews will be working to install new curb and paving. Lanes will remain open, but will be narrowed. Work will be underway in this area until the project is complete in January 2017.

Stafford County
Interstate 95 Northbound
(New) Monday ˗˗ Wednesday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m. A single right lane will be closed near Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville) for construction activities as part of the I-95 Southern Terminus Extension Project.

Interstate 95 Express Lanes
(New) Monday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4 a.m. A single right southbound lane will be closed just south of Quantico between mile marker 146 and mile maker 145 as Transurban crews install guardrail.

Interstate 95 Southbound
Crews will be inspecting various sign structures between mile marker 143.2, near Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville Rd.) and mile marker 133.2, near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth). Motorists should expect single lane closures and brief delays for the mobile work zones during these hours and dates:

Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

Route 607 (Deacon Road) – mowing
Route 607 (Cool Springs Road) – mowing
Route 609 (Raven Road) – machine roadway
Route 611 (Widewater Road) – brush cutting
Route 627 (Mountain View Road) – shoulder work

(Update) Sunday and Monday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Crews will be inspecting various sign structures between mile marker 125.5 which is near Exit 126 (Route 1/Massaponax) and mile marker 133.6 near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth). Motorists should expect single lane closures and brief delays during these hours for the mobile work zones.

Route 636 and Route 1234
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Monday, 9:30 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Drivers need to be alert as they approach the Route 636 (Mine Road) and Route 1234 (Spotsylvania Avenue) intersection, as crews will be conducting a traffic signal safety inspection. There will be alternating single lane mobile closures overnight in all directions.

(New) Wednesday – Thursday , 9:00 am – 2:15 pm. Drivers need to be alert as they approach the Route 636 (Mine Road) and Route 1234 (Spotsylvania Avenue) intersection, as work will be performed on the various signals at the intersection. There will be alternating single lane mobile closures in all directions.

Traffic Signal Structure Safety Inspection
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Drivers need to be alert as they approach these intersections, as crews will be conducting traffic signal safety inspections. There will be alternating single lane mobile closures during the day at the following intersections in all directions:
Route 3 (Plank Road) and Rutherford Drive
Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) and Southpoint Drive
Route 17/Route 2 (Tidewater Trail) and Route 786
Route 17/Route 2 (Tidewater Trail) and Route 661 (Hudgins Road)
Route 17 (Mills Drive)/Route 609 (Jim Morris Road)

(New) Monday, Dec. 19 ˗˗ Thursday, Dec. 22, 7 p.m ˗˗ 6 a.m. Crews will work to upgrade the traffic signal at the Route 301 (Richmond Turnpike) and Route 17 (Tidewater Trail) intersection. There will be alternating single lane closures overnight. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone.
