Snow Expected Overnight in the Fredericksburg Region

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Fredericksburg area from 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, through 7 a.m. Monday.

Up to one inch of snow is expected in the region. Untreated surfaces will become slippery after midnight, with temperatures dropping to near or slightly below freezing, the National Weather Service said.

National Weather Service Detailed Forecast
Sunday Evening: A chance of rain before 7 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow between 7 and 10 p.m., then snow after 10 p.m.. Low around 29. Northwest wind 3 to 5 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of about one inch is possible.

Monday: A chance of snow before 7 a.m. then scattered snow showers between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 39. Northwest wind 7 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. West wind 6 to 10 miles per hour, becoming southwest after midnight.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 51. Southwest wind 10 to 16 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour.
