Duck Donuts, the popular donut chain founded in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, has opened in Fredericksburg.

The shop is located at 1223 Jefferson Davis Hwy., in the Eagle Village Shopping Center. Hours are 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily.

Franchise owners Larry Scherer and Ryan Sloper also operate a location at 10286 Bristow Center Dr. in Bristow, Virginia (Prince William County); and another at Potomac Town Center at 15101 Potomac Town Place in Woodbridge, Virginia.

They will open a fourth location in Stafford at the end of February. That store will be located at 1475 Stafford Market Place.

Duck Donuts offers vanilla cake donuts fried in a soy-based shortening, covered with your choice of coatings, toppings, and drizzles.

All donuts are made to order. “We don’t start frying donuts until people start ordering them, so you get a hot, fresh donut every time,” Scherer told Potomac Local.
