Danelle Rose has been named Fredericksburg Visitor Center manager.
Rose, who has worked in Fredericksburg’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism since late 2013, will take over from Julie Perry.
Perry, who managed the Visitor Center for 11 years, has accepted a job with the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
“Julie did a wonderful job managing the Visitor Center, and overseeing many of our local tourism initiatives for more than a decade,” said Bill Freehling, director of the Department of Economic Development and Tourism. “She will be missed, but I know that Danelle is well-equipped to hit the ground running on day one. She will do a fantastic job.”
For the past three-plus years, Rose has been the department’s office manager, and has overseen its social media efforts.
Rose joined the Department of Economic Development and Tourism following a 14-year career as a general manager in the restaurant industry, and she has a strong background in customer service, Freehling said.
She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and information systems from Mount Union University in Alliance, Ohio.
This is the fourth staff change in the Department of Economic Development and Tourism in 2017. In February, Angela Freeman was hired as the city’s Business Development Manager, Victoria Matthews was promoted to Tourism Sales Manager, and Clint Manning was hired to replace Matthews as Conference Sales and Services Coordinator.
The Fredericksburg Visitor Center is located at 706 Caroline St. in downtown Fredericksburg. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
