Businesses that take credit card payments are responsible for maintaining Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards to make sure cardholder data isn’t compromised.

Penalties for not being compliant, particularly if card data is stolen, can start at $5000 and go up from there.

The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce is holding a PCI compliance seminar with Ethan Dietrich, CEO of SixGen LLC on May 10 from 8 to 10 am. SixGen is a cyber security company based in Odenten, MD.

The session is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for nonmembers. Register here
