Panamanian naturalist to speak at UMW

Naturalist Guido Berguido will speak about conservation efforts in the cloud forests of Panama on May 21.
Berguido is founder of the Chucanti Cloud Forest Reserve and Advantage Tours Panama. He has gained international recognition for his conservation efforts in Panama, one of the most biodiverse countries on Earth, and his cloud forest reserve is home to several newly discovered endemic species.
Berguido regularly hosts birding clubs from around the world and provides educational programs for students.
The Fredericksburg Birding Club, Friends of the Rappahannock, and the University of Mary Washington’s Dept. of Biological Sciences are co-hosting the event on Sunday, May 21 at 7:00PM in UMW’s Jepson Science Center, Room 100.
