Bowman Distillery plans Father’s Day event

by | Jun 1, 2017 | Events, Wine, Beer & Spirits

A. Smith Bowman Distillery is hosting its sixth annual Father’s Day Festival.
The festival will take place at the Distillery from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 17, and will feature live music, bourbon, a Bourbon Barrel Regatta, food and other activities.
The event will feature tours of the distillery and a vendors area. The Dear John Band will also be performing live.
The distillery is also partnering with River Rock Outfitter to host the first Deep Run Bourbon Barrel Regatta. Teams create their own boats from A. Smith Bowman bourbon barrels and race across Deep Run, which is located right next to the distillery. Registration for this has been extended through June 4th. Proceeds from the Barrel Regatta will benefit the American Canoe Association’s education and safety programs.
A cash bar featuring a variety of local beers, wines, and A. Smith Bowman Distillery’s spirits will be available to those over 21, and food trucks, Pfifer Brothers Barbeque and 719 Slice will be onsite with food.
“We are very excited to host our sixth Father’s Day Festival and hope everyone will come out to join us,” Master Distiller Brian Prewitt said. “This festival is one of our most anticipated events every year, and we’re looking forward to a fun day.”
Admission is free. No pets please, except for service animals. For information about how to register for the Barrel Regatta email [email protected].
