From Brisben Center

Fredericksburg Academy‘s smiling elementary students collected pennies and used the proceeds to donate diapers for Brisben Center families. Diapers are always in short supply. Brisben cared for 76 children of all ages last year and has already housed 50 children this year. A HUGE THANK YOU from all the Brisben children to the Fredericksburg Academy students and teacher Debbie Grabfelder.

The Falmouth Elementary School SCA in Stafford held a donation drive to meet the Brisben Center’s immediate need for supplies. The generous group delivered them to the Center after school. They also took a tour of the facility and asked a lot of great questions. The group was led by co-advisors, teachers Jacklyn Smith and Kerian Gaston. Brisben residents greatly appreciated their efforts. Principal Sallie Johnakin-Putnam should be proud of all involved.

The youth group from Peace Lutheran Church in King George conducted a donation drive for the Brisben Center. They collected and delivered much needed products and supplies for our residents and facility. Led by Kate Jones and Pastor Terry Neumann, the group also took a tour of the facility. These donation drives help the homeless and enable Brisben to frugally operate its 80-bed, year-round shelter.  Thank you Peace Lutheran youth!

Melissa and Michelle, children’s ministry leaders at Salem Fields Community Church, dropped off 60 intake bags of toys and treats at the Brisben Center for new children coming into our community’s 80-bed, emergency homeless shelter. The bags were a project by the children from the church’s ministry. Thank you SFCC kids for caring about Brisben’s children!
