Motorists should anticipate overnight delays, double lane closures and a full ramp closure on Interstate 95 northbound, southbound for multiple work zones in the Fredericksburg area.
The following lane closures are planned, weather permitting:
Interstate 95 Northbound
Potomac Creek Bridge (mile marker 137) Stafford County
Monday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m.
• A single lane will close at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. at the Potomac Creek bridge. All lanes will reopen at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Exit 130 (Route 3) Fredericksburg
Monday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m.
• Expect a single, right lane to be closed on I-95 northbound near the Exit 130 interchange to allow crews to install borings for future pole foundations. The work is for the I-95 safety improvement project at the interchange. Expect brief delays.
Tuesday ˗˗ Friday, 12 a.m. ˗˗ 3 a.m. FULL RAMP CLOSURE
• The ramp carrying traffic from westbound Route 3 to I-95 northbound will be closed to allow crews to work safely. Westbound traffic will be detoured to make a U-turn at Carl D. Silver Parkway to eastbound Route 3 and directed to I-95 northbound using the other ramp. The ramp will reopen at 3 a.m. each morning and the detour will be lifted.
Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9:30 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m.
• Expect a single, right lane to be closed on I-95 northbound near the Exit 130 interchange for construction activities.
Ni River Bridge (mile marker 121) Spotsylvania County
Monday and Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m.
• A single lane will close at 9 p.m. at the Ni River bridge followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m.. All lanes will reopen at 4: 30 a.m. the following morning as crews continue a bridge improvement project. The Ni River bridge is located at mile marker 121, just south of Exit 126/Massaponax.
Exit 118 (Route 606/Mudd Tavern Road) Spotsylvania County
Tuesday – Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 2:30 p.m.
• A single lane will close near the Exit 118 interchange for construction activities.
Interstate 95 Southbound
Potomac Creek Bridge (mile marker 137) Stafford County
Tuesday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m.
• A single lane will close at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. at the Potomac Creek bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project. The bridge is located at mile marker 137, just before Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway). Double lane closures will end at 6 a.m. Wednesday. A single lane will remain closed until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

• Expect a single, right lane to be closed on I-95 southbound near the Exit 130 interchange to allow crews to install borings for future pole foundations. Expect brief delays.
Ni River Bridge (mile marker 121) Spotsylvania County
Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 4:30 a.m.
• A single lane will close at 9 p.m. at the Ni River bridge followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 4:30 a.m. the following morning for the bridge improvement project.
Overhead message boards will warn travelers to stay alert for the work zones ahead and possible delays.
