GEICO Regional Vice President Scott Markel displayed the “company screwdriver.” He purchased it from a gas station in 1990 when GEICO first opened up a Fredericksburg area office in Shannon Airport. When GEICO opened the regional headquarters building in 1994 there were 700 employees. Today there are 4,000.

Governor George Allen attended the groundbreaking for the building. He returned for the celebration on Wednesday.
