The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office says a county man died Sunday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a tree. Sheriff’s Captain Liz Scott says 32 year old Derek Howe was traveling east on Brock Road, just east of Grady Lane, when his motorcycle became airborne coming off a hill crest.
The rider had lost control by the time his bike returned to the roadway and hit the tree. Police say Howe died at the scene.

It’s the second fatal motorcycle accident on Brock Road this month.
