The Rappahannock Area Health District reports 27 new cases of COVID-19. Since Friday, the region has seen 105 new cases. 31 people are hospitalized.
The Health District reports a new outbreak at a construction site in which 8 individuals have tested positive.
Alliison Balmes-John with the Health District says research continues to increase the understanding of cloth masks. Last week, CDC updated its guidance to discourage the use of masks with valves.

A preliminary study also showed that ‘neck gaiters’ did not offer protection from respiratory droplets. Wearing a cloth face covering that has multiple layers of fabric is currently recommended to prevent the spread of the disease.
