The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning robbery that occurred at the Exxon located on Mudd Tavern Road in Spotsylvania County. The clerk stated that a male came into the store at approximately 12:30am. He picked up items from the store and placed them on the counter as if to pay. The clerk stated it was at that time the male produced a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied and gave the male an undisclosed amount of money. The male fled the store and moments later a silver/gray SUV fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle could be seen getting onto I95 south.
The suspect is described as a black male, late teens to early 20’s, approximately 5’6”-5’10” tall, wearing a gray beanie hat, black jacket, khaki or olive colored pants, black Adidas shoes with white soles. The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with any information to please call 540-582-7115.
