The Virginia Tourism Corporation has selected the County of Louisa’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism (LCPRT) department to receive two tourism grants totaling $24,936. With the grant funds, LCPRT will enhance a program that directly supports Louisa County’s business community.

LCPRT staff will provide informational sessions on this program to businesses related to tourism, beginning with a Zoom session on Wednesday, May 18 hosted by the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce. The informational sessions will explain how location information, photos, events and more can be featured at no cost on VisitLouisa.com, the Visit Louisa Facebook page, and in the Visit Louisa mobile app that will launch in the coming weeks. Speakers will also address the broader strategies for promoting tourism for the County.

Businesses do not need to be a Chamber member to attend the session on May 18. Registration details are available at louisachamber.org Participating businesses should be of interest to County visitors, falling in one of the following categories: dining, shopping, event venues, vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, hotels, campgrounds, beauty salons, golf, family activities, agrotourism, water sports, historical, breweries, cideries or wineries.
