Former senior courtyard at Orange County High School turned into an outdoor classroom

From Orange County Schools:

Hard work and collaboration of students, staff and several community businesses has turned the former senior courtyard at OCHS into a beautiful outdoor classroom. ???????????? Thank you to all involved especially Friends of the Rappahannock who donated 100’s of native plants, Cedar Mt Stone who donated 5 tons of gravel, and Williams Lawncare & Landscaping that supplied 8 yards of mulch. From start to finish, students are experiencing hands on learning…calculating the area of the space to determine the exact amount gravel, mulch and plant material needed without waste, collecting soil samples, determining plants that thrive in a part sun/part shade space, carefully planting each species, watering, weeding, pruning and of course learning from what is growing!
