Fall Foliage Report for Virginia State Parks

Oct. 13, 2022.

From the mountains to the coast, fall colors are bursting forth across the Commonwealth. In the west, we are seeing the oranges of maples and reds of dogwoods, while in the central region there are some golden hickories. The coastal greens are still just starting to turn, but fall is coming on there, too.

So many of our parks have special events this weekend, so be sure to check the listings for one that is calling to you!

This fall season, find new ways to connect with nature and get outdoors for some fresh air to take a hike, bike ride or even birdwatch. Whatever adventure you decide on, be sure to share your Virginia State Park photos on social media by using the hashtag #VaStateParks and #FallinVirginia to be part of the online conversation.
