Prince William Fire and Rescue says New Year’s morning units were dispatched to the 5900 block of Yates Ford Road (Buckhall) for a reported house fire. Crews arrived with fire extending to and through the attic. The volume of fire and structural damage made extinguishment more difficult and time consuming. The home was totally destroyed.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced 4 adults and 3 children. One firefighter was injured during exterior operations and was transported and treated at a local medical facility with a non-life-threatening injury. The Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the cause of fire.
