Fredericksburg Police say late Sunday afternoon the City Police E-911 Center received a report of shots fired near the Express Food Mart on Fall Hill Avenue. Patrol officers responded immediately and located a male with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided lifesaving measures until EMS arrived and transported him to a nearby hospital. Police report he’s in stable condition.
Around the same time, a male called the Fredericksburg E-911 Center and said he shot a known person outside his home on Ivanhoe Court. The caller said the acquaintance tried to attack him with a knife. Patrol officers went to the shooter’s home, secured the firearm, and interviewed the shooter and witnesses.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
