From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

Two children have been returned to their father due to the hard work of multiple law enforcement agencies after a parental abduction that occurred yesterday in Stafford County.

On March 21st at 3:30 p.m. deputies responded to a call of a parental abduction. Rosa Gregg, 32, of Virginia Beach, picked up two of her biological children from Stafford Elementary School.
Gregg had an active child protective order out of Virginia Beach stating she was not allowed contact with the children without supervision. Information from Child Protective Services in
Virginia Beach indicated Gregg could be a threat to the safety of her children.

During the investigation, it was revealed Gregg might be heading to Rocky Mount North Carolina. As an Amber Alert was being put into place in both Virginia, and North Carolina,
Detective J.G. Wright traveled to Rocky Mount to join up with a United States Marshals Task Force in order to locate Gregg.

Wednesdy morning Gregg was located in Rocky Mount at a Quality Inn. At 4:32 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received confirmation Gregg was in custody and the children were safe. During a search
inventory of her vehicle, multiple wigs and other disguises were located, as well as, a loaded firearm. Both children were reunited with their father. Currently, Gregg is being charged with
two counts of abduction across state lines; however, more charges are pending. She is incarcerated in North Carolina without bond pending extradition to Virginia. This is still an
ongoing investigation.

We are extremely proud of the amazing work of our deputies and detectives who spent all afternoon, evening and most of this morning on this incident. We would like to thank the
Stafford County Public Schools for their cooperation in this case. Thank you to both the North Carolina and Virginia State Police for their assistance with the Amber Alerts. Thank you to the
Rocky Mount Police Department, as well as, the United States Marshals for their assistance in locating Gregg. Finally, thank you to everyone who called in tips, shared our social media posts,
and did your part to help bring a family back together
