From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:
It’s A Boy!
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate a South Stafford family on the birth of a baby boy after a telecommunicator coached mom through the delivery.
On June 26th at 6:21 a.m. Telecommunicator T.A. Barb answered a 911 call from a residence in South Stafford. The caller explained she was pregnant and she was having contractions less than two minutes apart. Mom went on to explain her water had broke and the baby was on the way. Dad was rushing home and was communicating with mom over a cell phone. He would have to listen to the delivery over the phone, as the baby was anxious to meet the world.
Telecommunicator Barb remained calm, providing instructions for mom to lay down a blanket and sit in the floor. At 6:30 a.m. as Telecommunicator Barb continued keeping mom calm, the baby was delivered and immediately began crying! A short time later paramedics arrived and reported a healthy mom and baby!
Congratulations to the family and kudos to Telecommunicator Barb!
