The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Sunday morning about 11 in the 3300 Hidaway Court in Rockland Creek Estates. The Sheriff’s Office says a 24-year-old male had been shot in the leg. Major Liz Scott says the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Major Scott says the 21-year-old suspect fled before deputies arrived. The Sheriff’s Office is looking for Emanuel James. Major Scott says the altercation started between the two men at the victim’s residence. Emanuel and the victim’s sister, who are dating, were arguing when the victim came outside to aid his sister. Scott says at some point during the argument between the two men, Emanuel produced a gun and shot the victim.
James is currently wanted for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and Malicious Wounding.
