From Spotsylvania Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management:
On Thursday, Station 7 A-Shift, responded to an accident in which one of the patient’s had a dog in their back seat. Our crew contacted a family member advising that the patient’s dog needed to be picked up so the roadway could be reopened.
The pup did not want to get in the Engine, so crew members walked him back to Station 7, tended to him (giving water, etc.), until the family member could pick him up.
While animal care is not something we typically handle, thanks to this crew for their compassion and going above and beyond with not only caring for the patient, but their fur baby as well!
