The intersection of Route 608 (Benchmark Road) and Route 636 (Mine Road) in Spotsylvania County will be closed from Monday, Sept. 11-Monday, Sept. 25.
Both roads must be closed to through traffic at the intersection to allow a utility provider, Kinder Morgan, to repair a pipeline in this area.
Traffic will be detoured along the following recommended routes: For traffic detouring from Benchmark Road:

Route 2/17 Business (Tidewater Trail)
Route 608 (Benchmark Road)
For traffic detouring from Mine Road:
Route 638 (Lansdowne Road)
Route 2/17 Business (Tidewater Trail)
Route 608 (Benchmark Road)
Real-time updates on the road’s status will be available on 511Virginia.org. Message boards are posted to notify travelers of the upcoming intersection closure. When the intersection has closed, signs will be posted along the detour route to guide motorists.
