From Germanna Community College:

Germanna Community College’s fourth annual Give Day raised over $140,000 in 17 hours last week.
Bruce Davis, Germanna’s Special Assistant to the President for Institution Advancement, said “once again illustrated the generosity of the communities the college serves.” He said 156 individual gifts raised $143,789.47 over the course of the day, “One hundred percent goes to student tuition gap funding and emergency expenses,” he said.
The donations will help fund:
*The Germanna Guarantee Program, which covers shortfalls when other forms of financial aid are insufficient for students who can’t afford tuition.
*The Gladys P. Todd Academy and Germanna Scholars programs, which allow top students from families with financial need to complete their first two years of college while in high school with no student debt, then transfer to universities halfway to bachelor’s degrees.
*The Germanna Cares program, which assists students and their families faced with food insecurity and lacking other basic needs.
