PHOTOS: Some JM students make service a priority on MLK Day (in the snow)

Making MLK Day a true day of service. Here’s what James Monroe High School Key Club and National Honor Society President Jamie Weiss told us about an event at JM:
“On MLK Day, students from James Monroe High School that are members in Key Club and National Honor Society had an opportunity to help their community. The Key Club hosted an MLK Day of Service. The volunteers could either participate in a litter cleanup or tree mulching.
The supplies for each opportunity were given to us by the R-Board and Tree Fredericksburg respectively. Despite the snow on Monday, we still had about 30 volunteers show up and donate their time to their school. They volunteered from 2 to 4pm while snow was coming down the whole time. We had a great time volunteering and we hopefully can set up another similar event soon!”
