Poplar Road in Stafford will close to through traffic overnight on Sunday-Thursday evenings between Sunday, March 3, and the morning of Friday, March 15 for replacement of nine drainage pipes. The pipes are being replaced ahead of paving on Poplar Road later this year between Branch Creek Way and Tacketts Mill Road.
Poplar Road will close at 8 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. on dates when work is scheduled. Signs will guide motorists along the recommended detour route.
First, crews will close Poplar Road to through traffic overnight between Route 627 (Mountain View Road) and Route 648 (Stefaniga Road). When work is underway at this location, the recommended detour route will be:

Poplar Road will be closed to through traffic overnight near the end of the two-week project between Mountain View Road and Route 646 (Tacketts Mill Road). During these dates, the recommended detour route will be:

Access to residential driveways along the closed sections of Poplar Road will be maintained at all times.
