A suspect who prompted the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office to issue an incident alert and manhunt this morning on Musselman Road in Falmouth has been located and charged.

Devin Laws, 26, is being held at the Rapphannock Regional Jail without bond. He has been charged with vandalism, possession of a firearm by a felon, burglary, use of a firearm in a felony, carjcaking, carrying a concealed weapon, and petit larceny.

The alert posted on X (formerly Twitter) stated that a man with a chainsaw and a hammer was involved in two disturbances in the Olde Forge neighborhood. Maj. Shawn Kimmitz said this morning before 7 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious incident.

“A suspect entered a home unlawfully and when frightened by the homeowner fled the scene on foot. He then attempted to break into a car in another block of Musselman Road and again, fled on foot,” Kimmitz said.

Laws was eventually located by drone and K9 units near Rappahannock Landing and detained.
