State Police say a pursuit on I-66 from Fauquier to Prince William County Sunday afternoon ended with a crash near Route 234.  The chase started about 1 p.m. when a trooper initiated a traffic stop on a Toyota Sienna traveling east on I-66 at the 17 mile marker in Fauquier County.  Sgt. Brent Coffey says the traffic violation was for no state inspection.

A State Police press release says the Toyota’s driver “refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The Toyota continued into Prince William County where it eventually crashed on eastbound I-66 at the 45 mile marker. The man driving the van was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A woman who was a passenger in the van was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

State police have not yet released the driver’s name or any charges.
