Crime reports from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office April 8-12

  • ASSAULT North Stafford High School, 839 Garrisonville Road, 4/8, 12:28 p.m. Deputy R.L. Allen was conducting his SRO duties when he heard a fight in progress in the gym. With the help of school staff, Allen was able to separate the two female students. It was discovered the mutual combat was over arguments on social media. Both received a criminal complaint for assault and battery. Stafford High School, 63 Stafford Indians lane, 4/9, 7:30 a.m. Deputy R.B. Brooks was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of an assault. This victim advised he was assaulted as soon as he arrived at school. The suspect admitted to the assault due to an incident four years ago. She received a criminal complaint for assault and battery. Democracy Circle, 4/9, 7:03 p.m. First Sergeant D.F. Purcell, Sergeant M.L. Jacobeen, and Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to an assault. The victim advised she was assaulted by a known male suspect during an argument. During the assault, the victim advised the suspect hit her using his firearm. The suspect was charged with assault and battery. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond.
  • CRIMINAL ACTIVITY Torbert Loop, 4/6, 10:02 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to an attempted breaking and entering. The victim had heard several noises around her residence and messaged another party to contact deputies. Deputies located tool marks on the victim’s door. While investigating, it was discovered the victim had been receiving threatening messages as well. The investigation is ongoing.  
  • DUI Tires & Wheels Unlimited, 289 Warrenton Road, 4/7, 12:02 a.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci was traveling on Warrenton Road when a vehicle in front of him drifted into another lane, nearly striking another vehicle. Demirci conducted a traffic stop as Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to assist. As the driver rolled down his window to chat with deputies, a large cloud of smoke came flying out. While the driver advised he was “fine,” based on his driving behavior and signs of intoxication, deputies knew otherwise. He was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond. Intersection of Cambridge Street and Manning Drive, 4/7, 1:46 a.m. Deputy J.R. Suarez was traveling on Richmond Highway when he observed a drifting driver. Suarez conducted a traffic stop. The driver had signs of intoxication and advised “I’m not going to lie to you, I had two glasses of beer.” While honesty is appreciated, so is sober driving. The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, and the traffic lane violation. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. IHOP, 10 Simpson Road, 4/9, 12:15 a.m. Deputy C.M. Sterne and Deputy M.A. Pearce observed a vehicle with expired registration that was reported to be connected to a disturbance. Deputies conducted a traffic stop. While the disturbance report was unfounded, deputies did find several signs of intoxication coming from the driver. He advised he had six whisky and Coke drinks at the Bearded Monkey prior to driving. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, refusal, and expired registration. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. Intersection of Warrenton Road and Olde Forge Drive, 4/9, 11:59 p.m. Sergeant J.D. Hurt was in the parking lot of Mr. B’s when a Dodge Charger approached the parking lot. When the driver saw Hurt, he quickly stopped, reversed, and blew by a stop sign getting back onto Warrenton Road. Hurt conducted a traffic stop as Deputy K.P. Hall responded to assist. The driver not only had noticeable signs of being under the influence, but a concealed firearm. He was charged with driving under the influence, refusal, and carrying a concealed firearm. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond. Intersection of Mine Road and Cathedral Lane, 4/10, 9:57 a.m. Deputy J.W. McAlister responded to a single vehicle accident. A witness advised the driver was traveling in an “erratic” manner, nearly struck another vehicle before striking the center median and getting stuck. The witness also advised the driver appeared “woozy.” McAlister made contact with the driver, who displayed signs of intoxication. She would admit to consuming ten different medications prior to driving. After conducting field sobriety tests, she was charged with driving under the influence and traffic lane violation. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 
  • FRAUD Sonny Lane, 4/5, 6:24 p.m. Deputy W.A. Bolinsky responded to a victim who advised she attempted to purchase fishing equipment off of Facebook. The seller requested the money upfront, but never sent the fishing gear. After a bit more digging, the victim saw other posts regarding the same suspect as a “scammer.” Belladonna Lane, 4/8, 3:26 p.m. Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to a victim who advised she saw a listing for a townhouse on Facebook and engaged the seller. The seller requested money for fees and provided a lease. When the victim arrived to move in, the leasing office had no record of her and it was discovered to be a scam. Kelley Road, 4/8, 4:49 p.m. Another victim had a bad experience with Facebook. The victim advised he saw a post for a vehicle he was interested in buying. The seller requested money upfront to “secure” the vehicle as his. The victim never received the vehicle.
  • LARCENY Publix, 1640 Publix Way, 4/5, 8:38 p.m. Deputy K.W. Suter responded to a larceny. Staff advised they had video footage of a male suspect stealing multiple bottles of wine. Bergamot Drive, 4/6, 6:53 a.m. Deputy C.S. Harding responded to a missing Mercedes. The victim advised he opened his garage door to discover his Mercedes gone. Government Island, 191 Coal Landing Road, 4/6, 11:50 p.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez responded to two vehicles being broken into. Both victims advised one of the windows of their vehicle was broken and their purse was stolen. 7-Eleven, 3623 Richmond Highway, 4/7, 4:15 p.m. Deputy R.J. Kemp responded to a larceny. The victim advised while tending to a flat tire, the suspect stole his iPhone. When the victim called his phone, the suspect answered and refused to give the phone back. The suspect would be found skating on a skateboard down Richmond Highway. He was arrested for grand larceny and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The phone was recovered. Manor at England Run Apartments, 4/8, 7 a.m. Multiple deputies responded to reports of vehicle break-ins. The victims had a window of their vehicle broken and items including wallets and purses stolen. Boulder Drive, 4/8, 12:02 p.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a larceny. The victim advised her purse was stolen from her open garage at some point the day prior. Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 4/9, 9:45 a.m. Deputy A.M. Pitts responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male suspect stole over $80 worth of items. The suspect was clearly an Adidas fan, for he was described as wearing a black Adidas hoodie, black Adidas sweatpants, and black Adidas slides. Picadilly Lane, 4/9, 3:46 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a larceny. The victim advised her cell phone was taken from her vehicle. Wawa, 275 Butler Road, 4/10, 1:01 a.m. Deputy M.A. Holub responded to a larceny. The victim advised a known party drove him to the business. While the victim was in the business, the suspect left with the victim’s bag in his vehicle. While the bag was located on the side of the road, personal items, including shoes and a wallet, were missing. The investigation is ongoing. South Pointe Lane, 4/10, 4:50 a.m. Deputy M.A. Holub responded to a larceny. The victim advised multiple items were taken from his vehicle. Kohl’s, 1220 Stafford Market Place, 4/11, 7:17 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male suspect stole $400 worth of items before leaving in a dark SUV.
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION Bearded Monkey, 564 Warrenton Road, 4/5, 10:35 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi was assisting deputies with an arrest for an unrelated matter. While doing so, a new challenger stumbled towards deputies screaming. It was clear the suspect was intoxicated and refused deputies commands. He was arrested for public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Wawa, 9 South Gateway Drive, 4/6, 2:08 a.m. Deputy N.J. Amato responded to a drunk in public complaint. The caller advised there was a male outside the business who looked, and smelled, completely drunk. When Amato arrived, he discovered the only thing keeping the suspect standing was the trashcan he was leaning on. He was arrested for public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Doc Stone Road, 4/6, 6:24 a.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a suspicious person call. It was advised an unknown male appeared passed out inside a vehicle. Epps made contact and observed paraphernalia in plain view. The suspect also displayed signs of intoxication. During a more in-depth search of the vehicle, suspected controlled substances were located. The suspect was charged with public intoxication, possession of controlled paraphernalia, and possession of controlled substances. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Home Depot, 305 Worth Avenue, 4/6, 8:04 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a caller who advised there was a male dancing around the parking lot pulling on vehicle door handles. Croson located the suspect, who advised he was just admiring the vehicles. While advising the suspect to admire only with his eyes, Croson noticed signs of intoxication. While the suspect claimed to only be on “apple juice,” it was determined he might have had too much of a different kind of juice. He was arrested for public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Autumn Ridge Park, 900 Eustace Road, 4/10, 12:32 a.m. Deputy J.J. Holetzky and Deputy B.M. Stanfill responded to a disturbance. The caller advised there was yelling at the park. When deputies arrived, they located three intoxicated people, two of which were underage. All three were charged with public intoxication, and the 23-year-old who provided the alcohol was additionally charged with alcohol purchase for persons under 21. All three were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Shoppers, 1505 Stafford Market Place, 4/11, 7:58 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a disturbance. The caller advised there was a male suspect yelling in the bathroom. Croson discovered the yeller still yelling in an intoxicated state. While being arrested, deputies located nearly 30 suspected fentanyl pills. He was charged with public intoxication and possession of controlled substances. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. 
  • THREATS Little Whim Road, 4/7, 10:35 p.m. Deputy N.J. Amato responded to a threat call. It was discovered a juvenile made threats to kill her mother, uncle, and dog when they fell asleep. Due to the seriousness of the threats, the juvenile was detained at the Juvenile Detention Center. Criminal complaints for two counts of threats of death were submitted. 
  • TRESPASS Brent Point Road, 4/9, 6:35 a.m. Deputy C.M. Ramirez responded to a trespassing. The victim advised an ex romantic partner unlawfully entered the residence and was refusing to leave. Due to prior incidents, Ramirez knew the suspect and that she was wanted out of Stafford County for breaking and entering, destruction of property, as well as, assault and battery. The suspect was located still on the property and was taken into custody. She was served on her outstanding warrants and additionally charged with trespassing. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. 
  • VANDALISM Boscobel Road, 4/6, 11:54 a.m. Deputy C.A. Osborne responded to a vandalism. Two mailboxes were struck down by what appeared to be a vehicle. Sebastian Road, 4/6, 2:03 p.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez would also respond to the murder of a mailbox. The mailbox appeared to have been struck by a vehicle as well. Pratt Park, 120 River Road, 4/11, 4:36 p.m. Deputy J.R. Suarez responded to a vandalism. The victim advised the window of his vehicle was broken. 
  • WARRANT SERVED Round Table Court, 4/5, 8:28 a.m. Deputy C.R. Szentkuti attempted to locate a wanted female suspect out of Stafford County for a capias. When at her residence, a male suspect advised she was not there. Despite being warned hiding her would only result in charges for him, he continued to deny she was there. That was discovered to be false, and both were taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, the male suspect was found with suspected controlled substances that he claimed were “possibly” meth. The female suspect was served on her outstanding warrant and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The male suspect was charged with obstruction of justice and possession of controlled substances. He was held on a $2,000 secured bond. Midnight Express, 47 Cool Spring Road, 4/9, 12:21 p.m. Deputy N.D. Fonseca responded to a warrant service. A detective from Pennsylvania advised a female suspect who was wanted for felony money laundering was at the business. Fonseca made contact with the suspect and detained her without incident. It was discovered she was in possession of a fake Maryland driver’s license, and her vehicle at this location was bought using a fake name. She was charged with identity theft, identity theft with intent to defraud, and fugitive from justice. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Kings Highway, 4/9, 11:56 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt observed a vehicle traveling 73 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. She conducted a traffic stop and discovered the driver was wanted out of Maryland for burglary, assault, and destruction of property. The driver was not only issued a summons for speeding, but he was charged with fugitive from justice. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Evans Lane, 4/10, 7:30 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea observed a suspicious person in the area. This person was discovered to be wanted out of Stafford County for a felony capias. Gildea detained the resistant suspect. During his trip to see the magistrate, the suspect would consume a substance he had hidden on his person. The suspect was served on his outstanding warrant, two counts of obstruction of justice. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Walmart, 125 Washington Square Plaza, 4/11, 12:27 p.m. Deputies with the Special Problems Unit discovered the whereabouts of a suspect wanted for possession of controlled substances. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle he was in and detained him without incident. During a search incident to arrest, suspected controlled substances were located. He was served on his outstanding warrant and additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond.
